Sometimes, the biggest traveling leap we make happens to be the next step in our lives. Today, the drive from college to home is the most traveled path for many college students. I am used to driving long distances. Growing up in Gallatin, Missouri meant that the nearest Walmart was thirty minutes away and the closest shopping mall was nearly double the former distance. However, to come to the University of Missouri takes approximately 3 hours.
During my drive back to the farm, my thoughts often turn to agriculture. After all, I am seeking a degree from the College of Agriculture Food and Natural Resources but what I am going to do with my Science and Agriculture Journalism degree? What will my purpose be? And how will I better the agriculture industry? As you drive to your homes, relatives houses, or any gathering this holiday season, ask yourself what your journey means. Know your purpose for agriculture.
